D-Box Adaptive Gaming with Steering Wheel & Teknoparrot

Hi, I’m trying to get my motion rig to work with emulated racing games in Teknoparrot, in particular Mario Kart. I don’t think adaptive gaming works with steering wheels yet does it? My plan was to use x360ce software so that the steering wheel is seen as a game controller. Im having a couple of problems though: despite mapping in x360ce everytime i try to map a button in the adaptive gaming software it just shows ‘J Axis’ thats turning the wheel or pressing the brake or throttle, so its picking up something but not any of the mapped buttons.

I then tried to map a standard xbox controller to see if i could get that to work first. I created a custom profile, it maps the right keys and does the movements I want. Everything works when im on the D Box software or just the desktop, however when i launch Teknoparrot and Mario Kart, the controller works correctly but I have no movement. If i quit the movement works when im just on the desktop.

Can anybody help getting this set up? I would love to be able to play old arcade racing games with movement and hopefully my steering wheel (a Thrustmaster t500RS if that makes a difference)

Thanks in advance

Hello Sheridan,
Thank you for reaching out to us about the issue you are experiencing while using the Adaptive Gaming mode. I will reach out to our Design team who is in charge of the Adaptive Gaming for more information on whether your configuration can be detected through that mode.
I will get back to you shortly with an answer.

Kind regards.

Thanks Angus… or just any way to get the steering wheel to control the motion in emulator games if there are ways i haven’t thought of

Hello Sheridan,

After speaking with our Design team, we cannot unfortunately incorporate any steering wheels or HOTAS into the Adaptive Gaming mode. This option is currently being developed by our Software team and should be available in the upcoming Motion Core releases. Please check our upcoming emails for any updates concerning this particular feature.

Hopefully, this info serves you well.
Kind regards.
